A data center is a facility that houses servers, storage systems, networking equipment, power systems, cooling infrastructure, and security controls. It provides the physical foundation for many websites, applications, databases, and cloud services.
SaaS delivers complete software applications to users, PaaS provides a platform for developing and running applications, and IaaS provides infrastructure such as virtual servers, storage, and networking.
Virtualization allows one physical server to run multiple isolated virtual computers. This improves hardware utilization, flexibility, scalability, and resource management, making it a fundamental technology behind many cloud platforms.
Servers and other computing equipment generate significant heat while operating. Cooling systems remove this heat so that equipment remains within safe temperatures, reducing the risk of failures and maintaining reliable performance.
